Too Loud
From Junie
The noise is getting tall. It climbs up my arms.
I hum my hum. Mmmm, mmmm. My hum is a little wall. It keeps some of the noise out.
From Junie and the Quiet Clap.
When it is too loud, it is okay to cover your ears, put on a hat or headphones, hum, or ask a grown-up to help you find a quieter spot.
Count the seven stairs
You can count out loud, in a whisper, or just in your head.
- Cover your ears, or put on something soft that hugs them.
- Count slowly with me. One, two, three.
- Four, five, six.
- Seven. Always seven.
- If it is still too loud, show a grown-up this page. You can go to a quiet spot.
Go as slow as you like. There is no timer. You can stop any time.
